The slowness of MinZhKH in solving the question of autonomous heating can lead to cold riots

The longer Ministry of Housing and Communal Services will pull the solution of legalization every apartment autonomous heating, the great will become autorities chances to face cold riots – is convinced the head of the Association of Thermotechnical Companies Vitaly Yakovenko.

According to ATCU press service, authorities of the cities with population over 100 thousand got from 5 to 15 thousand requests for disconnection from the central heating and hot water supply systems. Those are statements of the families who are no longer satisfied with the services of TKE and ready to defend their right to comfortable housing. In general in Ukraine there’s an entire army of such people: from 200 to 500 thousand.

“Recent rallies for permission to install autonomous heating in Ivano-Frankovsk have shown that people are willing to support and promote their right for comfort. Ivano-Frankovsk rallies were held at the end of the heating season. What will happen next autumn and winter as the structure of central heating will become worse? Of course, no one will go to the Independence Square in Kiev, but I can assume that local authorities could save protests”, - emphasizes the chairman of ATCU.

In his view, this is the best time for the government to repeal or to modify the decree number 1268 31.10.2007 of the Cabinet of Ministers and order of the Ministry of Housing number 169 of 06.11.2007, which made it impossible to install individual systems of autonomous heating. «On the one hand, Ukrainians will have time to design all the necessary documentation and installation, and on the other authorities will not have to worry that wheeler-dealers from politics will take advantage of discontent” – said Vitaly Yakovenko.
